Description

Pallets lie wherever goods are transshipped. The set contains the EUR 1 pallet single and as a stack of five, plus the footprints of EUR 2/3 and EUR 6.

  • EUR 1 at 1200 × 800 × 144 mm, scaled down.
  • Stack of five as one part: quick to print, stable on the wagon.
  • EUR 2/3 and EUR 6 with documented footprints; EUR 2 and EUR 3 share the same rectangle and are the same part here.

In the set per scale:

  • EUR 1: prototype 1200 × 800 × 144 mm; N 7.5 × 5 × 0.9 mm, TT 10 × 6.67 × 1.2 mm, H0 13.79 × 9.2 × 1.66 mm
  • EUR 2 / EUR 3: prototype 1200 × 1000 × 144 mm; N 7.5 × 6.25 × 0.9 mm, TT 10 × 8.33 × 1.2 mm, H0 13.79 × 11.49 × 1.66 mm
  • EUR 6: prototype 800 × 600 × 144 mm; N 5 × 3.75 × 0.9 mm, TT 6.67 × 5 × 1.2 mm, H0 9.2 × 6.9 × 1.66 mm

Scales: One variant per scale: N (1:160), TT (1:120) and H0 (1:87). There is no Z: the pallet would be a flat 0.65 mm block there. Each variant contains the single parts and a collection plate with all parts of the scale (3 mm apart).

Dimensions: Prototype dimensions from GS1 Germany (EUR 1 to DIN EN 13698-1) and Wikipedia "EUR-pallet" (footprints EUR 2, 3, 6), divided by the scale. Simplified build: deck and bottom boards are thickened to 0.65 mm (the boards would be only 0.25 mm thick in H0), the overall height stays to scale; in TT and N without bottom boards. The height of EUR 2, 3 and 6 (same as EUR 1) and the position of the blocks are an estimate, not true to the prototype. How accurate it turns out depends on your printer, and our part has not been tested on a layout yet. Print the free check gauge first to see in advance whether clearance and distances suit your setup.

Material: Resin recommended, the parts are small to scale; the stated print time and resin amount are an estimate for resin at 0.05 mm layers on a common MSLA printer. In H0 and TT, FDM in PLA with a 0.2 mm nozzle and 0.08 mm layers also works. With resin: wear gloves, follow the resin manufacturer's instructions and cure the parts fully.

Material and temperature

PLA is enough for gauges and structural parts (0.4 mm nozzle). For small details use resin or a 0.2 mm nozzle. With resin: wear gloves, follow the resin manufacturer's instructions and cure the parts fully.

Printing

  1. Resin, 0.05 mm layers: tilt the single parts by about 30–45° in the resin slicer and add light supports, on undersides and backs rather than visible faces.
  2. After printing, wash the parts (cleaner as specified by the resin manufacturer), remove the supports and post-cure them fully under UV light.
  3. FDM (H0, TT): PLA, 0.2 mm nozzle, 0.08 mm layers, no supports, as the files are laid out.
