Description

Before you spend hours printing a pod or panel: this set shows in about 40 minutes whether your printer and filament hit our dimensions.

  • Three rings for the 52 mm gauge body with +0.2 / +0.4 / +0.6 mm clearance (1, 2 or 3 notches). Our models use +0.4 mm. If another ring fits better, you know how to scale.
  • A 6 mm tall single-DIN sample with crush ribs: push it into the slot and feel whether it clamps.
  • An M3 test block: drive in a set screw and check that the thread holds.
  • Everything hangs on thin bars and is snapped off after printing.

Print in the same material as the final part (PETG, ASA or ABS): ASA shrinks more than PETG.

Shows whether +0.4 mm fits; otherwise scale the model accordingly.

Material and temperature

Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Print orientation: Flat on the bed, as the file is laid out.

Safety notice

For testing only, not for installation in the car. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).

FAQ

Which material should I use for this trim part / clip?

Recommended: PETG (alternatively ASA, ABS). Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Do 60 mm gauges fit?

Only if the body is 52 mm and just the bezel is larger. The bezel then rests on the front. This pod is not made for gauges with a 60 mm body. If unsure, print the included tolerance test ring.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. We email you the download link.
