Description

The visor pushes onto the front of a gauge pod and shades the dial from sun coming from above, so the gauge stays readable even with the sun low.

  • A ring with eight crush ribs holds it on the cup without glue.
  • The half shell is 28 mm long at the top and tapers toward the sides.
  • Fits every pod from our shop (58.8 mm variant) and other cups or gauge bezels Ø 57–63 mm.
  • Prints without supports in about an hour.

Crush ribs absorb ±0.4 mm.

Material and temperature

Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Print orientation: Ring down on the bed, hood pointing up.

Printing

  1. Print in ASA (UV-resistant) or PETG, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % infill, no supports. No PLA.

Installation

  1. Measure the outer diameter at the front of the pod cup and print the matching variant.
  2. Push the visor straight onto the cup with the shell on top.

Which material should I use for this trim part / clip?

Recommended: ASA (alternatively PETG, ABS). Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Do 60 mm gauges fit?

Only if the body is 52 mm and just the bezel is larger. The bezel then rests on the front. This pod is not made for gauges with a 60 mm body. If unsure, print the included tolerance test ring.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.
