Description

Bins on the Gridfinity grid: 42 mm per cell, 7 mm per height step, with the standard foot. They stand on any Gridfinity baseplate or simply on the floor. The geometry is our own, built only from the published dimensions (Gridfinity specification by Zack Freedman, MIT license, per gridfinity.xyz). We have no affiliation with the author.

  • Sizes: 1 × 1, 1 × 2, 1 × 3, 2 × 2 and 2 × 3 cells.
  • Heights: 3, 6 or 9 units (21, 42, 63 mm); 3 units from M 112, 6 units from M 112, 9 units from M 137.
  • Wall 1.8 mm, no stacking lip and no magnet holes.

Variants and installation: One file per size and height. An M case has 9 × 6 cells, an L case 11 × 6 (our calculation, remainder at the edge); e.g. an M holds 27 bins of 1 × 2.

Dimensions: Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet. Grid 42 mm, height step 7 mm, foot profile after the Gridfinity specification (own geometry from the dimensions, no foreign files). Grid per case (our calculation): M 9 × 6, L 11 × 6 cells. Height with a 5 mm baseplate: 3 units from M 112, 6 units from M 112, 9 units from M 137. Corner radius and floor profile of the cases are not published; we will build an exact baseplate only with readings from the free fit sample set.

Material: PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Brands: Made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. No logos and no lettering on the parts.

If a bin sits too tight on your baseplate, scale it to 99.5 % in X and Y in the slicer.

  1. PETG (or PLA), 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % gyroid, no supports.
  2. Print upright on the foot, as the file is laid out.

Which material should I use for this tool case insert?

Recommended: PETG (alternatively PLA). PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

May Gridfinity bins be sold?

The Gridfinity specification by Zack Freedman, MIT license, allows it. Our bins are our own geometry from the dimensions; we take no foreign files and have no affiliation with the author.

Is there a baseplate for the case?

Not yet: corner radius and floor profile of the cases are not published. The bins stand on any Gridfinity baseplate or directly on the floor.

Have you printed the part and tested it in a case?

Not yet. Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet; the tool dimensions come from the standards named. That is why you should print the free fit sample set and a single tile first.

Is this an accessory by TANOS or Festool?

No. The parts are made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. We name products only to describe the fit.
