Description

Every bit has its place, small on the left to large on the right. The head lies in a trough sized to its diameter and sinks to its centre line; the shank lies free in the slot behind it. The heads alternate between front and back, so the bits lie close together. Because shank sizes differ between makers, the tiles come with a narrow and with a wide shank slot.

  • Tile A: Ø 10, 15, 20, 25, 26, 30 mm (8 mm shank to DIN 7483 G), 32 mm high, fits every height from M 112.
  • Tile B: Ø 35, 40, 45, 50 mm (10 mm shank), 45 mm high, fits from M 137 (not in M 112).
  • Trough per size: head Ø + 0.6 mm, 40 mm long; shank slot narrow 10.4 mm (shank up to 10 mm) or wide 15.4 mm (shank up to 15 mm); room for bits up to 95 mm long.
  • Careful: Forstner bits have sharp cutting edges and a pointed centre spur: hold them by the shank.
  • Print one at a time, as needed: every tile is a holder of its own; the set fills a case.

Variants and installation: Whole set (all tiles and connector bars, print profile as below): Tile set M (A + B, 2 × each, narrow) 25 h 46 min, 493 g; Tile set L (A + B, 3 × each, narrow) 35 h 33 min, 677 g. Systainer³ M (from above, one long side at the front): front: left A (Ø 10–30), right B (Ø 35–50); back: left B (Ø 35–50), right A (Ø 10–30). The back row is the same file turned by 180°; the two R 15 corners of every tile face the case wall. Systainer³ L (from above, one long side at the front): front: left A (Ø 10–30), middle B (Ø 35–50), right A (Ø 10–30); back: left B (Ø 35–50), middle A (Ø 10–30), right B (Ø 35–50). The back row is the same file turned by 180°; the two R 15 corners of every tile face the case wall. Single tiles M: A or B, each with a narrow or a wide shank slot; the other places stay free for other tiles.

Dimensions: Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet. Systainer³ M: 2 × 2 tiles of 193.6 × 136.3 mm (inside 389.5 × 275 mm), 2 connector bars; Systainer³ L: 3 × 2 tiles of 166.3 × 136.4 mm (inside 501.5 × 275.2 mm), 3 connector bars. Tool dimensions according to DIN 7483 G (manufacturer data). Diameters, 8/10 mm shank and 90 mm overall length to DIN 7483 G taken from manufacturer data (standard text not read); the length up to 95 mm comes from an original inlay. Many bits are only “similar to DIN 7483 G”: shanks from 6.3 to 15 mm occur. That is why the shank slot is not a fit; narrow/wide, head length up to 40 mm and 0.6 mm clearance are estimates. The corner radius, floor profile (floor cross, radius between floor and wall) and wall draft of the cases are not published. That is why we relieve generously: R 15 in the case corner, a 4 mm chamfer at the bottom edge, a hollow underside with a rim (a floor cross up to 5 mm high stays clear) and 1.0 mm clearance per side to the case, 0.3 mm between tiles. Print the free fit sample set first: it shows on your own case whether corner, floor edge and clearance work.

Material: PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Brands: Made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. No logos and no lettering on the parts.

If a bit with a long head rests on the step to the shank slot, scale the tile up by 2–3 % along Y or take the wide tile.

FAQ

Which material should I use for this tool case insert?

Recommended: PETG (alternatively PLA). PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

Have you printed the part and tested it in a case?

Not yet. Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet; the tool dimensions come from the standards named. That is why you should print the free fit sample set and a single tile first.

What are the connector bars for?

A flat bar (30 × 5 × 2 mm) sits in two pockets at the joint between the front and the back tile and keeps them in line without clamping. Lengthwise the case walls hold the tiles. You can also leave the bars out.

Is this an accessory by TANOS or Festool?

No. The parts are made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. We name products only to describe the fit.
