Description

Every die has its pocket sized to the outer diameter and thickness of the standard, sorted from small at the case wall to large. The dies rest on a narrow ring with the pocket open below, so chips fall through. Lift the top die out at the finger notch. Tile A takes coarse thread, tile B fine and pipe thread.

  • Tile A, coarse thread (outer Ø × thickness in mm): M3 20 × 5, M4 20 × 5, M5 20 × 7, M6 20 × 7, M8 25 × 9, M10 30 × 11, M12 38 × 14, M14 38 × 14, M16 45 × 18, M18 45 × 18, M20 45 × 18. Up to M8 two dies fit on top of each other, e.g. coarse and fine thread with the same outer diameter.
  • Tile B, fine and pipe thread (stack pockets per outer size): 20 × 5 (3 dies: M4 × 0.5, M5 × 0.5); 20 × 7 (2 dies: M6 × 0.75); 25 × 9 (2 dies: M8 × 0.75, M8 × 1); 30 × 11 (3 pockets: M10 × 1, M10 × 1.25, G 1/8); 38 × 10 (2 pockets: M12 × 1.25 to M14 × 1.5, G 1/4); 45 × 14 (2 pockets: M16 × 1.5 to M20 × 1.5, G 3/8, G 1/2).
  • Pocket: outer Ø + 0.5 mm, as deep as the dies plus 0.5 mm, ring 3 mm, finger notch 12 mm wide.
  • Flat: tile 30 mm high, the dies lie below the top face, fits every height from M 112.
  • Careful: Dies have sharp cutting edges in the bore: hold them by the outer rim.
  • Print one at a time, as needed: A and B are holders of their own, for M and L.

Variants and installation: Single tile: fits any of the 4 places in the Systainer³ M; R 15 corners towards the case wall, turned by 180° in the back row. Can be mixed with other tiles of the same size. Single tile: fits any of the 6 places in the Systainer³ L; R 15 corners towards the case wall, turned by 180° in the back row. Can be mixed with other tiles of the same size.

Dimensions: Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet. Systainer³ M: 2 × 2 tiles of 193.6 × 136.3 mm (inside 389.5 × 275 mm), 2 connector bars; Systainer³ L: 3 × 2 tiles of 166.3 × 136.4 mm (inside 501.5 × 275.2 mm), 3 connector bars. Tool dimensions according to DIN EN 22568 and EN 22568 (second catalogue). Outer Ø × thickness to DIN EN 22568 (formerly DIN 223) taken from two manufacturer catalogues that agree (standard text not read); G pipe thread to DIN EN 24231 from the same catalogue. For M12 one dealer gives 38.1 × 13 instead of 38 × 14; the pocket is made for 14 mm. The 0.5 mm clearance is an estimate. The corner radius, floor profile (floor cross, radius between floor and wall) and wall draft of the cases are not published. That is why we relieve generously: R 15 in the case corner, a 4 mm chamfer at the bottom edge, a hollow underside with a rim (a floor cross up to 5 mm high stays clear) and 1.0 mm clearance per side to the case, 0.3 mm between tiles. Print the free fit sample set first: it shows on your own case whether corner, floor edge and clearance work.

Material: PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Brands: Made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. No logos and no lettering on the parts.

If a die is too tight, scale the tile up by 1 % in the slicer.

FAQ

Which material should I use for this tool case insert?

Recommended: PETG (alternatively PLA). PETG recommended, because a tool case quickly ends up in a car or in the sun. PLA works too, but it deforms in a hot car or in the sun.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

Is there a slot for the die stock?

No. We found no documented length for die stocks, and there is no room for a long slot beside the pockets.

Have you printed the part and tested it in a case?

Not yet. Inside dimensions taken from the TANOS price list 2026; our part has not been tested in the case yet; the tool dimensions come from the standards named. That is why you should print the free fit sample set and a single tile first.

What are the connector bars for?

A flat bar (30 × 5 × 2 mm) sits in two pockets at the joint between the front and the back tile and keeps them in line without clamping. Lengthwise the case walls hold the tiles. You can also leave the bars out.

Is this an accessory by TANOS or Festool?

No. The parts are made to fit Systainer³/Sortainer³, not an accessory by TANOS or Festool, no affiliation with them. We name products only to describe the fit.
