Description

Oval bases for large miniatures, cavalry and flyers to print yourself. Real ovals are partly up to 1 mm wider than their name; our files stick to the name.

  • Sizes 60 × 35, 75 × 42, 90 × 52, 105 × 70, 120 × 92, 150 × 95, 170 × 105 mm, plus 170 × 109 mm; all eight are in the set.
  • Shape: foot = nominal size, top 2.0 mm smaller (from 80 mm length 3.0 mm), height 4.0 mm up to 100 mm length, above that 5.0 mm.
  • Hollow underside (wall at least 1.6 mm, 2.0 mm deep), printed with the top face on the bed, as the file is laid out, no supports.

In the set: All eight sizes, each as its own file: the seven from 60 × 35 to 170 × 105 mm plus 170 × 109 mm. The stated print time, filament amount, dimensions and weight refer to one 60 × 35 mm base only, not to the whole set.

Dimensions: Basis: nominal sizes of common plastic bases (retailer tables), foot sizes from a public measuring template. The foot of our oval bases is exactly the nominal size. Real ovals are partly up to 1 mm wider than their name (measured width 75 × 42 → 43.1, 120 × 92 → 93.0, 170 × 105 → 106.0 mm). Real bases differ from the nominal size by up to about 1 mm depending on the maker (mostly smaller, ovals partly wider). Height and bevel are our own choice based on seller figures of 3 to 5 mm height, not measured on real bases (estimate). Our part has not been printed or tested yet. Print the free fit test set first: it shows with your own bases and printer which clearance fits.

Material: PLA, 0.4 mm nozzle, ideally 0.12 mm layers, no supports; PETG works too. PLA deforms in a hot car, so do not leave the parts there.

Print trays, converters, smooth bases and flight stands in PLA (0.4 mm nozzle); PETG works too. The textured bases are meant for resin; FDM with a 0.2 mm nozzle is the alternative. With resin: wear gloves, follow the resin manufacturer's instructions and cure the parts fully. Also make sure the room is well ventilated.

Print orientation: With the top face on the bed, as the files are laid out, no supports.

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

Not yet. Our part has not been printed or tested yet. That is why you should print the free fit test set first and then a single part.

Is this for a particular game?

No. We build by base size and name no games or makers. Which base size and which formation you need is in your rules.
