Description

Bases of the same nominal size turn out differently from maker to maker, and every printer prints pockets a little differently. This set checks both before you print trays, converters or flight stands. You only print the parts for your base sizes.

  • T1 round combs 25 / 28.5 / 32 / 40 / 50 mm, one comb per size: semicircular notches with 0 / 0.2 / 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm clearance (1 to 5 dots behind them). The comb is as high as the recess wall of our trays (1.8 mm with lead-in): if the base slides in fully, it fits at that stage. Our parts use +0.4 mm (3 dots).
  • T2 edge combs 20 / 25 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 mm with the same stages, one side length per comb: for square bases 20 to 50 mm and both sides of 25 × 50, 30 × 60 and 40 × 60 mm.
  • T3 height ladder 2.5 to 5 mm in 0.5 mm steps: put the base next to it and read its height. Our recesses are 1.8 mm deep.
  • T4 socket hole bar Ø 3.0 / 3.2 / 3.4 / 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.0 / 6.2 mm (ascending from the notched corner), printed upright like the sockets of the flight stands, plus a Ø 6 mm rod sample. Ø 3.2 is meant for 3 mm or 1/8 inch rods from the shop, Ø 6.2 for our printed rods.
  • T5 row sample 5 × 25 mm: a real tray with the continuous recess (125.4 × 25.4 mm). If five of your bases fit side by side, the large trays fit too.
  • 25 mm starter plate: T1 and T2 for 25 mm, T3, T4 and T5 on one build plate.

Variants: One variant with all single parts and the 25 mm starter plate.

Dimensions: Basis: nominal sizes of common plastic bases (retailer tables), foot sizes from a public measuring template. Clearance stages 0 / 0.2 / 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm in total over the nominal size; our trays, converters and pockets use nominal size + 0.4 mm (0.2 per side). Real bases differ from the nominal size by up to about 1 mm depending on the maker (mostly smaller, ovals partly wider). How to read it: the smallest stage your base slides fully into without pressure is your clearance. If it is larger than 0.4 mm, scale our files in X and Y only in the slicer: factor = (N × nominal size + your clearance) ÷ (N × nominal size + 0.4), N = number of bases in that direction. On the hole bar, the tightest hole the rod enters without force is your hole size. Our part has not been printed or tested yet.

Material: PLA, 0.4 mm nozzle, ideally 0.12 mm layers, no supports; PETG works too. PLA deforms in a hot car, so do not leave the parts there.

Made by base size, not for a particular game; no miniatures included.

Not a toy. Accessory for tabletop hobbyists aged 14 and up; contains small parts that can be swallowed, not for children under 3 years. No miniatures included. No connection to game or base manufacturers. Nothing load-bearing.

Material and temperature

Print trays, converters, smooth bases and flight stands in PLA (0.4 mm nozzle); PETG works too. The textured bases are meant for resin; FDM with a 0.2 mm nozzle is the alternative. With resin: wear gloves, follow the resin manufacturer's instructions and cure the parts fully. Also make sure the room is well ventilated.

Print orientation: Flat, as the files are laid out, no supports.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. We email you the download link.

Do I have to print the whole set?

No. Print the combs of your base sizes, the hole bar with the rod sample for flight stands and the row sample for rank & flank trays.

Have you printed and tested the part?

Not yet. That is exactly what the test set is for: you print it first and see with your own bases and printer which clearance, height and socket hole fit.

Is this for a particular game?

No. We build by base size and name no games or makers. Which base size and which formation you need is in your rules.
