Description

Lying flat on the desk you see knobs and jacks at a low angle and the legends are hard to read. Two side wedges under the ends of the case tilt it towards you by 15, 25 or 35 degrees. The case rests on its flat underside only, leans against a low lip at the front and is held by a flat stop at the back. The wedge does not touch handles or end caps, because there are no dimensions for them.

  • At the outer dimensions: support of 168 mm (167 mm case depth + 1 mm clearance) between the lip (10 mm high) and the stop (6 mm high), wedge 32 mm wide.
  • One file, print it twice: the left and right wedge are identical.
  • Pockets for rubber feet Ø 12–12.7 mm on the underside (2 per wedge) so nothing slides.
  • Truss instead of solid material: printed lying on the side cheek, no supports.
  • Ready for the side shelf: two square holes in the wedge take its tongues; the shelf is a separate product and does not touch the case.

Variants: One set of two wedges per angle: 15° 173 mm long, 56 mm high at the back; 25° 164 mm long, 84 mm high at the back; 35° 150 mm long, 110 mm high at the back. Arturia gives no angle; 15°, 25° and 35° are our choice.

Dimensions: Dimensions taken from Arturia RackBrute 3U (maker's page) and RackBrute manual; our part has not been tested on a case yet. Outer size 484 × 167 × 83 mm; lying flat we take 167 mm as the depth from front to back and 83 mm as the height, with 1 mm clearance. The assignment of the three numbers to width, depth and height is our estimate. Please measure the outer dimensions of your own case before printing; the manufacturer only gives rounded numbers. Print the free fit gauge first: it shows whether hole pattern, screws and your printer work together.

Load: For the case on the desk, guide value up to 5 kg, not a tested load rating, not a seat or a shelf.

Material: PETG, or ASA. No PLA: the case presses on the wedges all the time, and PLA creeps under constant load, even more so in warm rooms.

Brands: Fits Arturia RackBrute; not an accessory by the manufacturers, no affiliation with them. No logos and no lettering on the parts.

Clearance 1 mm on the case depth; measure your own case.

Material and temperature

Print stands and shelf in PETG (ASA works too): a case with modules weighs several kilos, and PLA slowly gives way under constant load. Print panels and gauge in PLA (PETG works too). Do not put a heat source right next to them, such as a radiator, and do not leave the parts in the sun behind glass.

Print orientation: Lying on the side cheek, no supports.

Safety notice

For the case on the desk, guide value up to 5 kg, not a tested load rating, not a seat or a shelf. The part has no electronics and carries no current. Put the wedges on a flat, firm surface and do not push the case over the lip. Not a toy and not an electrical part: the stands only carry the case on the desk (guide value up to 5 kg), the shelf 0.5 kg at most; neither is a tested load rating. None of it carries current.

Not an original part. No affiliation with the manufacturers named; brand and model names only indicate fitment.

You will also need

  • 4 × Self-adhesive rubber foot Ø 12–12.7 mm, up to 3 mm high (optional)

Printing

  1. PETG (or ASA), 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % gyroid, no supports.
  2. Lying on the side cheek, as the file is laid out; print two.

Installation

  1. Take off or turn away the handle and Link parts. Put the wedges on a flat, firm surface, lip towards you, one under each end of the case.
  2. Lay the case on until it rests against both lips at the front. Check that nothing gets caught at the lip and the stop.

FAQ

Which material should I use for this eurorack accessory?

Recommended: PETG (alternatively ASA).

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

What about the supplied handle and the Link system?

Take them off first or turn them out of the way. We have not measured their shape; the wedges only sit under the enclosure.

Something sticks out at the front or back near the ends. What now?

The lip (10 mm) and the stop (6 mm) are only 32 mm wide. Move the wedges further in until nothing is in the way; their position along the width is free.

Does the stand fit other cases?

It is calculated for the outer dimensions of the RackBrute 3U only. Another case with a flat underside and just under 168 mm depth would sit on it the same way; we have not checked that.

Have you printed the part and tested it on a case?

Not yet. The dimensions come from the sources named; the part has not been printed or tested on a case yet. That is why you should print the free fit gauge first.

Which material?

PETG, or ASA. No PLA: the case presses on the wedges all the time, and PLA creeps under constant load, even more so in warm rooms.

Does the part carry current?

The part has no electronics and carries no current. We deliberately do not offer bus boards, power supplies or device adapters with electronics.
