Description

Your patch cables hang right in the case instead of lying on the desk beside it. The panel sits in the normal grid, needs no clamp and no surface on the enclosure, so it fits any Eurorack case. Hang cables or bundles over a hook; the lip at the front keeps them on.

  • Hooks across the full panel width, 22 mm deep, with a 45° gusset and a lip; at least 5 mm stay free between a lip and the next hook for hanging cables.
  • Screws stay accessible: the hooks sit between the screw rows, so the screwdriver reaches the screws straight on.
  • Printed standing: the hooks lie in the layer plane and do not break along a layer line; no supports.

Variants: Widths from the Doepfer table: 2 HP = 9.8 mm, 4 HP = 20 mm, 6 HP = 30 mm, 8 HP = 40.3 mm. Each width with 3, 5 or 8 hooks (12 files). Two slots at 2 and 4 HP, four at 6 and 8 HP. At 2 HP the slot is open to the right edge, because no material would be left beside a hole at 7.5 mm.

Dimensions: Dimensions taken from Doepfer A-100, Construction Details and Doepfer hole drawing; our part has not been tested on a case yet. Height 128.5 mm, slots Ø 3.2 × 4.6 mm at 7.5 mm from the left and 3 mm from the top and bottom edge. The panel is 2.0 mm thick where it rests on the rails and 2.4 mm on the back in between. Estimated are the slot length (our own rule) and the hanging gap for 3.5 mm patch cables. Print the free fit gauge first: it shows whether hole pattern, screws and your printer work together.

Load: For patch cables only, guide value 0.5 kg for all hooks together, not a tested load rating; do not hang anything else on it.

Material: PLA is enough, PETG works too: the parts carry hardly any load and do not get hot in the case. Do not leave them in the sun or a hot car, PLA softens from about 55 °C.

Brands: Doepfer is named only as the dimension source; not an accessory by the manufacturers, no affiliation with them. No logos and no lettering on the parts.

Print stands and shelf in PETG (ASA works too): a case with modules weighs several kilos, and PLA slowly gives way under constant load. Print panels and gauge in PLA (PETG works too). Do not put a heat source right next to them, such as a radiator, and do not leave the parts in the sun behind glass.

Printing

  1. PLA (or PETG), 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layers, 2 walls, 15 % infill, no supports.
  2. Standing on the left panel edge, as the file is laid out; the hooks point sideways.

Installation

  1. Switch the case off. Put the panel in a free spot and screw it on with two or four M3 screws.
  2. Hang the cables over the hooks as loops, heavy bundles at the bottom.

Which material should I use for this eurorack accessory?

Print panels and gauge in PLA (PETG works too). Do not put a heat source right next to them, such as a radiator, and do not leave the parts in the sun behind glass.

Do I receive a printed part?

No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.

How many cables fit on one hook?

On 22 mm of hook length about four to six common 3.5 mm patch cables side by side, hung as loops. The guide value of 0.5 kg applies to all hooks together.

Do I need a bus connection?

No. The panel is a blank plate with hooks and only takes up space on the rail.

Have you printed the part and tested it on a case?

Not yet. The dimensions come from the sources named; the part has not been printed or tested on a case yet. That is why you should print the free fit gauge first.
