Volvo V70 / XC70 / S60 / S80 (P2, 2000–2007): flush 52 mm gauge in the coin tray – no drilling

Description

For the Volvo V70 II, XC70, S60 I and S80 I (P2 platform, about 2000–2007), including T5 and R: the insert clamps into the coin tray of the centre console behind the gear lever and holds one 52 mm gauge flush – boost is typical on the T5/R.\n\n- The outside has the same draft as the OEM tray: just press it in, the wedge fit holds. Nothing is drilled, fully reversible.\n- The gauge sits flush and faces up; body and connectors hang in the tray.\n- The cable leaves through a notch at the rim.\n- Variants for 45, 50 and 55 mm gauge depth.\n- Prints face-down on the bed: smooth visible side, no supports.

Too loose: thin felt tape on the sides; too tight: sand the shell slightly. Bore +0.4 mm, check with the test ring.

Material and temperature

Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Safety notice

The coin tray sits behind the gear lever, clear of the airbag zones. The gauge sits flush and obstructs neither gear lever nor handbrake; keep the cable away from the seat rails. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).

Printing

1. Print the tolerance test ring first and test-fit the gauge.
2. Print in PETG or ASA, 0.2 mm layers, 4 walls, 20 % infill, no supports. No PLA.

Installation

1. Remove the coin tray insert.
2. Press the gauge in from the top, route the cable out through the notch at the rim.
3. Press the insert into the tray until it clamps.
