Porsche 924: 52 mm gauge insert with coin tray for the console ashtray – no drilling
Drops into the console ashtray well of a 924 in place of the ashtray and holds one 52 mm gauge next to an open coin tray.
Description
For the Porsche 924 (1976–1988): the insert replaces the ashtray in the centre console and holds one 52 mm gauge, e.g. oil temperature or oil pressure, next to an open coin tray.
- A box with crush ribs clamps in the ashtray well, the flange rests on the console. Nothing is drilled, the ashtray can go back at any time.
- The gauge sits half recessed and faces up, about 2 cm above the console.
- The cable runs through the bore down into the well.
- Variants for 45, 50 and 55 mm gauge depth.
- Prints without supports.
Fit: box size taken from a freely published 924 insert, our part is not yet tested in a car. Please measure the well first (about 127 × 75 mm, at least 30 mm deep).
File the crush ribs if needed; too loose: felt tape on the box. Check the +0.4 mm bore with the test ring.

Print orientation: Bottom on the bed, gauge opening on top.
Safety notice
The insert sits in the centre console clear of the airbag zones and stands only about 2 cm proud. It must not obstruct the gear lever or handbrake – check in every gear after fitting. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).
Not an original part. No affiliation with the vehicle manufacturers named; make and model names only indicate fitment.
Box size 126.9 × 75 × 30 mm taken from Printables 782866 (CC BY-NC, dimensions only), our part not yet tested in a car. Early 944 share the console according to dealers – not checked, so not listed. 924S 1987/88: airbags not checked; the centre console is clear of the airbag zones.

FAQ
Which material should I use for this gauge pod?
Recommended: PETG (alternatively ASA, ABS). Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.
Do 60 mm gauges fit?
Only if the body is 52 mm and just the bezel is larger. The bezel then rests on the front. This pod is not made for gauges with a 60 mm body. If unsure, print the included tolerance test ring.
Do I receive a printed part?
No. You get the print files and print the part yourself or use a print service. You get the download link right after payment.
Why does the gauge face up?
How the well sits in the car is not sourced; a straight gauge fits either way. It stands only 2 cm above the console and hardly gets in the way of the gear lever.
Does it fit the 944?
It is not checked for the 944. Early 944s reportedly share the console – please measure the well (about 127 × 75 mm).
