Dacia Duster II 2WD (2018–2024): 52 mm gauge pod replacing the 4x4 blank plug – no drilling

Description

For the Dacia Duster II (HM) with front-wheel drive (2018–2024), also the Renault Duster 2G: 2WD cars have a blank plug behind the gear lever instead of the 4x4 mode switch. The pod plugs in there and holds one 52 mm gauge – often boost on the TCe.

• A round hollow stem with crush ribs clamps in the opening; the cable runs through it into the console. Nothing is drilled.
• Tilt 45 or 60° toward the driver; round, so turn it toward the driver when fitting.
• An M3 set screw secures the gauge.
• Prints without supports.

Only for cars without 4x4 (those have the mode switch there).

File the crush ribs if needed; too loose: felt tape on the stem. Bore +0.4 mm, check with the test ring.

Material and temperature

Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Print orientation: Front face on the bed, cup pointing up; the stem lies on the bed.

Safety notice

The position is behind the gear lever. The pod must not obstruct the gear lever, handbrake or cup holder – after fitting, check in every gear and with the handbrake pulled. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).

You will also need

• 1 × M3 set screw or self-tapping M3 screw, 8–10 mm

Printing

1. Print the tolerance test ring first and test-fit the gauge.
2. Print in PETG or ASA, 0.2 mm layers, 4 walls, 20 % infill, no supports. No PLA.

Installation

1. Lever out the blank plug.
2. Feed the cable through the stand and stem into the console, insert the gauge, tighten the set screw hand-tight.
3. Press the pod into the opening and turn it toward the driver.
