Double DIN panel for 3× 52 mm gauges, flush, with storage pocket – universal

Description

The panel fits any double-DIN slot (178 × 100 mm units per ISO 7736, also 180 × 100 mm) and holds three 52 mm gauges flush in the face, like a factory fit.

• The gauge bodies sit inside the slot. Each gauge's own mounting bracket clamps it from behind.
• Below is a storage pocket (160 × 33 mm, 24 mm deep) with a lip so nothing slides out.
• The sleeve clamps into the cage with crush ribs. Nothing on the car is drilled.
• The faceplate (188 × 110 mm) prints face-down on the bed, so the visible side comes out smooth, no finishing.

Variants: 3 or 2 gauges, each with a storage pocket or a closed lower half, e.g. for your own switches.

Crush ribs absorb cage tolerances; bore +0.4 mm, verify with the test ring.

Material and temperature

Shaded location: PETG is sufficient, ASA is the more robust choice. PLA is unsuitable in a car – it starts to soften at about 55–60 °C.

Safety notice

Use in the DIN slot only. The panel must not cover controls, warning lights or airbag covers. Do not carry heavy or loose objects in the pocket. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).

You will also need

• 3 × Gauge mounting brackets (usually supplied with the gauge)

Printing

1. Print the tolerance test ring first and test-fit the gauge.
2. Print in PETG or ASA, 0.2 mm layers, 4 walls, 20 % infill, no supports. Faceplate down on the bed; the pocket ceiling is bridged. No PLA.

Installation

1. Remove the radio or double-DIN blank; the DIN cage stays in the car.
2. Insert the gauges from the front and tighten their brackets from behind.
3. Connect the cables, then push the panel straight into the cage until the faceplate sits flush.
