Description

For the Toyota 4Runner (5th gen, 2010–2024): large bottles do not fit the factory cup holder because it narrows toward the bottom. The adapter plugs into the hole with a spigot and has a cup with 95 mm inner Ø on top for bottles with a 90–92 mm base, e.g. 32 oz bottles.

  • The spigot fills the hole, crush ribs take up tolerances. Fits front and rear.
  • The large bottle stands on a ring; small cups still drop further into the spigot.
  • A finger notch in the cup wall helps to take the bottle out.
  • Nothing is drilled; the adapter simply pulls out.
  • Prints without supports.

Fit: hole dimensions taken from a freely published cup holder insert, our part is not yet tested in a car.

Too tight: file the crush ribs lightly. Too loose: felt tape around the spigot.

Material and temperature

Location out of direct sun: PETG works, ASA as well. Still no PLA – a parked car gets very hot inside.

Print orientation: Spigot down on the bed, cup on top.

Safety notice

The bottle stands about 6 cm higher than in the factory cup holder. Check that the selector lever and nearby controls stay clear in every position. No hot drinks in open cups. Install at your own risk. Never mount in an airbag deployment zone, never cover controls, never restrict the view. Follow the material and temperature advice. Add-ons may affect the type approval of the vehicle (§ 19 StVZO in Germany); keep edges in the head and knee area rounded (UN Regulation No. 21).

Hole dimensions taken from Printables 1089081 (CC BY-SA, dimensions only), our part not yet tested in a car. According to the reference author the same insert fits front and rear. The adapter sits in the centre console between the seats, clear of any airbag zone.

  1. Print in PETG or ASA, 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls, 15 % infill, no supports. No PLA.

Installation

  1. Take the rubber liner out of the cup holder.
  2. Press the adapter straight in until it sits on the rim; turn the finger notch where you want it.

Which material should I use for this cup holder?

Which bottles fit?

Bottles up to 92 mm across the base, e.g. many 32 oz and 1 litre bottles. Measure the base first.

Do normal cups still fit?

Yes, small cups drop through the ring into the spigot just like in the factory holder.
